Marijuana Laws are much more dangerous to soceity than marijuana it self

I would argue that the laws prohibiting the cultivation, sale and consumtion of marijuana, are much more harmful to individuals and society than the substance it self.

Just think of all the hardships imposed by the system if you are caught by authorities with marijuana. Even minor infrations of the prohibition could have serious consequences in your life. What the authorities dont seem to take into account, or dont care about. Is that when you are arrested and charge with this crime, it can result in major damage in ones life. 1000 fold of any damage the use of cannabis could cause.
The possible money, loss of property, lost jobs, time in jail, splitting of families and all out mental and physical stress of being stuck in a justice system that frankly doesnt care what becomes of you or your family. But at the same time claiming to protect us from the so called dangerous use of cannabis. That is the biggest crock of S@#T I have ever witnessed. The justice system and law makers need to remember that they are there to protect individuals from others. NOT to protect us from ourselves.

The atmosphere that these laws have created, do the exact opposite by forcing people into the dangerous black market. Where there are very real dangers of being robbed, beaten up or even murdered. And not because of marijuana itself but because of the money. When is the last time you have heard of someone getting robbed for there marijuana because some one just needs to get high, im sure it has happened but it is usually because some one just wants the money that the marijuana can generate for them.

Then there is the absolute hipocracy, when it comes to alcohol, which has been proven to be much more of a danger to society and individuals. I dont think alcohol should be illegal either we should have the right to chose as individuals, what to do with our own lives as long as we dont harm others.
The laws that govern us on marijuana, create much more harm in peoples lives than not. We need to support Barney Frank's and Ron Paul's bill that has been proprosed in congress. And local and State laws that are being proposed.

Things are starting to turn in the right direction as far a marijuana laws go. But we need to keep pushing to make this activity safer for us all.
