I had my first harvest yesturday. I should have asked this question days ago. How do you guys manicure your buds? Does it take you a long time? I spent 10 hours on two plants. Is this typical or am I just anal. Thanks:peace:

Depends on how big your plants are! A couple of huge plants might indeed take 10 hours if there were a lot of small buds to do in particular.

Each bud will have about 30-50 bud leaves, all which should be snipped off as close to completely as possible.

This is TEDIOUS, TIME CONSUMING AND MY VERY MOST HATED PART OF THE JOB!

I usually find some way to distract myself with some interesting podcasts from NPR or Radio National. Great way to pass hours and hours while doing the otherwise mind numbing manicuring work.

The SoG style stalks of buds I grow have less leaf for the amount of bud because I don't grow the bottom 2/3 of the natural plant. Smaller buds are more time consuming to manicure. Each one of these SoG plants takes about 40-50mins to trim.

Al is right this is the most time consuming part of the whole process. Just have to devote the time and get it over with. You will be so glad you did in the long run.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't read very much about manicuring, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I guess hours and hours of trimming buds is a good problem to have.:peace:
