Male plants ! cannabutter? bubblehash?

Well I'm pissed after 5 wks of babying my 4 ak48s 3 turned male on me !! I yanked um this morning and was wondering. Can I make canna butter with 3 male plants or can I make bubble hash with it ? Is there anything besides a compost heap in the future for these little orphans.?

i asked the same thing about a BHO extr4action of male plants. Never got any answers most people just thought i was an idiot for asking :( hopefully you hae better luck
 
Gogrow, damn I thought I had it bad, do you have fem. left ? I did start 4 clones off my one female before I shoked the hell out of her yankin her roomates and cutting up her roots. Hope they take and she recovers... No more sarting 6 plants in the same res unless they're clones or femed seeds...now I just hope I can get something out of all this plant matter !
 
yeah you can make cannabutter. Someone I know just did this with a medium sized male plant. Chop it up, dry or not, and throw it in a medium size pan with two sticks of butter, salted or unsalted (have heard unsalted works better but salted worked for me). Add a quart of water to the mix, partially cover the pot with its lid, and set it on medium low until it gets to a gentle boil. Then back off the heat closer to low, maintaining the boil, and let it go for as long as you can, checking periodically to ensure it doesn't burn. After 4 hours of more, the butter should have absorbed all available THC.


Strain the mix and cool it in your fridge. After a night of cooling, the remaining water will have separated from the butter and you can scoop the green brown butter goop off the top. There you have your cannabutter! Happy baking!

P.S. the brownies we made with this butter were the most narcotic thc experience I'd ever had. So heavy and stony, and they lasted for many hours. But really nice. Just don't do it if you have an aversion to sleeping!

yeah, it looks like the other 9 are female :) three of those could fool me though, but i've got 6 confirmed:eyesmoke:
 
I'd be very happy with 9 ! I'll just have to wait and see how the clones do, my first try at hydro first try at cloning ,at least I'm getting some practice in !! Plus since I'm tired of waiting if the clones work I'll start them in flower after 2 wks !! I lost my patience till I at least get one indoor harvest !!

I'd be happy with 9 as well bro... fingers crossed.....

I was worried that i was only gonna have 4;-), but thankfully i was wrong..... I woulda had to throw em back in veg to get a little bigger if that was the case..... with 8 or 9, i can let them continue flowering and not disturb them.... still debating that though as more bud is always better :lol:
 
Just toss 'em. I made brownies out of 4 male plants that I had been drying for a few weeks and they turned out shitty. They weren't very potent and they had a bad plant taste to them. I got a little buzz off a third of the batch but they didn't taste good at all. Use harvest trim or buds if you are going to make cannabutter or hash.

Yeah thats what I'm thinking too. I haven't had much luck with edibles anyhow. And I'd hate to go through all that trouble and mess for a crappy buzz...I just hope the 4 clones I took off of my female make it ok...
 
8 confirmed females...:hump:... 5 confirmed males, and one up in the air still...... but i think i may have to do a little breeding project with one of these males.... he's too perfect to just throw away :eyesmoke:.... huge thick stalk, nice tight growth, wonderfully rapid growth, huge "knuckles" at the branch sites, etc.... definitely worth breeding;-)
 
i use em to make hash, males have about 30% of t thc that the fems have so extracting the thc makes sense to me.
all males and clippings and stems go into the freezer until hash day. these bubble bags make it pretty easy. and then you have killer hash

Sounds like you have a project to keep you busy... Have you ever tried to do any breeding yet ? Mine are stuffed in a bag waiting to see what their fate is gonna be...

2Much, So you think making canna butter out of three males would be worth the work and mess? I haven't had much luck with edibles but would really like to try this butter stuff out... any input to male butter ? Thanks 2Much...Merry Christmas too..
 
it wouldnt be the strongest but you could make hash with em if you have enough leaf matter.. throw em in a 5 gallon bucket of ice water, mix for AT LEAST 20 minutes with a handheld electric cake mixer.. The ice water hardens the trichomes so they stiffen up and break off into the water while its being mixed! strain all the trichomes out thru silkscren.. you can then screen it again with a finer weave.. compress whatever trichomes you gather together and theres your hash my friend! :P
 
I just made a batch of brownies with a male plant and they turned out pretty potent. It's very easy to make butter, might as well give it a try rather than waste a whole plant. I buy packages of cheesecloth from the dollar store and a one dollar box of brownie mix. I put the whole plant in a pan with 2 sticks of butter, then simmer it covered on low heat for several hours. Then I pour the entire contents of the pan over a piece of cheesecloth that I've laid across a mixing bowl, tie up the cloth around the plant & wring out all the green liquid through the cloth into the bowl. Then I add an egg and the box of brownie mix and bake it. Excellent edibles every time.

You can make canabutter for sure I keep both male and female for breeding after I breed I use all my males for butter I have never had a bad batch I use alot more shake to make it but it works just as well male leaf produce more thc and cbd then female leaves do I smoke my female bud and use the rest for butter
