Hi gang!
It's time for another medical marijuana report from closed4fishing.

This will be the first time I've ever posted a smoke report on something I've received from a dispensary. To be honest, nothing has ever compared with what I grow myself. This Malawi however, has changed my whole perception on what a good high should be like!

Strain: Malawi - 100% Sativa landrace strain
Breeder: Unknown
Grower: Unknown
Dispensary: Puget Sound Health Alternatives
Price: $16/gram - $440/oz (holy shit batman!!!)
Grow Info:
All I can tell you is that it was grown organically according to the bud tender, who by the way was very knowledgeable even about growing.

Cure at time of smoke test:
Unknown

Bag Appeal:
A

Smell:
I don't even know how to describe it or where to start. It's almost like there are two separate smells coming from the bud. Like one bud was two buds that each had a different smell. Both odors come through very heavy. One is reminiscent of a sweeter skunk smell, the other is almost light pepperty skunky guava grapefruit. Please don't rely on my description here. I honestly don't have a clue how to describe these smells!

Taste:
Mmmmmmm. Smooth, a little chronic/skunky, peppery yet tropical, floral yet fruity. Who the hell can describe this???
It is so mild and sweet!

Effect:
I thought that I'd had a true 100% landrace sativa before, and maybe I have but this is a whole different game. I've been smoking on the Kosher Kush, Kandy Kush, Sour Diesel, Blue Dream, Trainwreck and Headband lately and my tolerance is fairly high, especially for someone who works full time. The first hit of the Malawi that I took, I didn't think to much about it. It tasted awesome and I noticed that, but then I took a second hit. Five minutes later all the colors became more vibrant, I felt a burst of warmth through my body and a general euphoria or well being. Thinking "This is awesome!" I proceeded to finish off the bowl. I guess I took about 5 hits total in 15 minutes. The effects were super energetic, euphoric and simply the best damn high I've had if not ever, then in a damn long time!! Since the 80s! There was zero burnout and I noticed a good deal of pain relief but with no heaviness of the body. And believe it or not, the high lasted a good 2.5 - 4hrs. Absolutely zero tiredness! They said people smoke this instead of drink coffee for breakfast in Malawi. Don't know if that is true but from the effects I would believe it!!!

Possible Medical Uses
back/neck pain (any dose)
appetite (any dose)
Stress relief in small quantities (any dose)

Final Thoughts:
This was hands down the best Sativa I've had since the 80s. It may even be better than those! I wrote this report because if you are a Sativa lover, you owe it to yourself to try the Malawi grown organically. I will do whatever I can over the next few months to try and beg for a clone of this stuff. I consider it my holy grail Sativa and I've been on the search for years and years. The problem right now is that they don't give any discount for ounces. So you will pay $440/oz plus tax for this stuff!! It does take 130+ days to flower, so it's twice the electricity and nutes but dang! I gotta find a clone :leaf:

Questions? Just ask and I'll do my best to answer.

Hope you enjoyed my report. If you could spare a little +rep for a brotha, I'd certainly appreciate it.

I freakin love Sativas, never seen the Malawi around though. Isn't that the one they had to hunt down in the bush of Africa?
also it's funny that @ $15 a g, an oz would be $420. so really you're paying more per g by buying the oz.

Hi Skuba! Yes the Malawi is from Africa, at least that's my understanding. It was actually $16/gram so I think I'm getting an $8 break lol. Not sure why I thought it was $15 but I just checked their site and it was $16/gram.
I really love this Malawi!!

Yay!, glad to hear you enjoyed this strain. Malawi is one of my summer projects, got the beans as freebies from Sannie.

Great report, closed4fishing! +rep!

Have you ever tried Kali Mist, and if so how does this compare? You are describing the high I get from KM to the tee!

I sure hope you are right about KM. I have three ready to go in flower next week and this will be the first time I've ever tried it. Dang that would be awesome if I got the same effect as the Malawi :)

Looks like your dispensery needs to higher new trimmers.....your nugs are covered in sugar leaves....the nug under the leaves look great though. Just needs a tighter trim

I love me some sativas. How does the high compare to a strain like SLH and apollo 13? Right now I use SLH for the taste in my vape and mix it with some apollo for a uplifting high.

I was noticing the same thing when I saw the picture. Like you said, just needs a tighter trim and its good.

Don't have any experience with it, but Highgrade Seeds carries a strain called "Malawi Gold" that is supposed to be a landrace sativa. They list flowering time as 10-12 weeks.

I disagree. These nugs would be nothing without those sugar leaves. This is a fluffy sativa not a dense indica.

I have grown out Panama Red and it is the same as this, leafy.

I'd have to agree with you there! The buds would look pretty flipping bare and scraggly without those sugar leaves. This is a whole different ball game than the typical dense indica and those sugar leaves are potent! No complaints about the trim job from me

I actually edited the post and changed it from $15 - $16/gram after skuba posted. For some reason I thought it was $15/gram and that's what I originally posted. Now that it's edited though, I'm sure it will cause some confusion :-P

I guess the best way for me to answer that is with a scale: 1=shitty - 10=best ever
SLH = 7
Apollo 13bx = 8 to 9
Malawi = 11 - off the charts!

The taste of the Malawi is great and you would like the taste as much if not more than SLH, in my opinion.

sounds like a good smoke but doesnt have much bag appeal. Definitely one for the connoisseur.

I agree it's one for the connoisseur but I would still be very happy with the bag appeal if I knew it was 100% landrace Sativa. If this were a hybrid I would say the bag appeal would be a C- but for a 100% Sativa, I give it an A. :weed:

i believe u said your in cali but does anyone else notice that most of the buds they see at dispensaries in colorado at least look kinda raggedy..ive mostly only seen the buds on tv and whatnot but they almost all look like garbage and the dispensaries out there sell it for like i think 2 sumthin an ounce, seems cheap to me and ya get what u pay for..all i no is my stuff looks way better than the stuff they are growing in colorado..
