well i have a sunleaves 600gph air pump right now for my 7 gal dwc tank that i have 5 gal water tops..... and it works great i just need to make it quieter... its way to loud... is there a way to make it quieter... thought about making a box and putting like that foam that is shaped like egg carton.. i heard that helps for sounds but dont know if it will work for me... the pump is in my room and its kinda loud ... i want to move my set up in the garage but manager comes over a lot and i cant have him hear it at all... im about to switch from dwc to ebb and flow... just so its a water pump that comes on a little here and little there... not on 24/7... but then i need another air pump to aerate the water but its ganna be smaller quiet one .. cuz u dont need a great one for ebb and flow .. help me keep it quite...

I have similar pump and was worried about the vibrations so I put a butterfly hook in ceiling and I hang the air pump from a string so its not touching anything suspended in midair. This does not do anything for the sound in the same room but it keeps you from hearing anything from another room easily so maybe you could combine suspending the entire pump from a string while also muffling the sound

yeah it does vibrate a lot where i have it now.. its sitting on bottom shelf in the entertainment center next to my grow box...it used to move a lot and hit side and make a loud noise so i put some Styrofoam in there so it dont move and it cant hit the side...
