Making Butter and Tincture

First off I'm not sure where to put this I didn't see a cooking section but if there is feel free to move this Admins lol but anyway. I harvested a couple plants the other day, ive been saving up all the leaves and stems from this and the last two I harvested, keeping sugary trim in one lot and fan leaves/sugarless trim/stalks separate in another bag. My plan is once they dry and I finish trimming off the rest of the sugartrim, ill decarb that, stick it in high-proof alcohol (unfortunately in Aus finding higher than 80 proof is very bloody hard, ive been to about 5 bottle-os but ive used 80-proof vodka before with proper bud and it seemed to work) and let it soak for a few weeks, meanwhile grind up all the fans, stems etc decarb those and then slowcook some butter with them. Does anyone think this is a good/bad idea, got any ways I could tweak/improve it etc, and also if anyone can give me a rough idea of how much of the sugarless stuff I need thatd be appreciated, one friend reckons you need a pound of leaf to get a good batch but THAT seems excessive.

I make both all the time!

I use the frozen Green Dragon method for tinctures using 180 proof Everclear. 1.5 oz of my trim ( which dispensaries call bud buddies) and 1/5 bottle of 180 proof.
Make sure you decarb your trim.
Then I put the trim into a large mason jar and the bottle of Everclear in the freezer overnight.
Combine the two in the AM.. shake the holy living shit out if it for 3-5 minutes and place back in the freezer for a few hours.
Remove and repeat shaking, the strain through cheese cloth and squeeze the remaining goodness from your trim.
Your result will be a golden colored liquid because the green water soluable ( crap bitter tasting) green matter never gets a chance to thaw and leach into the tincture.
I then reduce by 1/2 and it POTENT!

I got Sister to make some oil for me this week. She decarbed 2 3/4 ounces of bud. {break up bud, remove stems and seeds. Bake at 225F for 55 minutes} Mostly CP1, but some CPDA and Peach mixed in. {all from 2016 full seasons} She cooked down the decarbed bud into 8 ounces of coconut oil in a crockpot. I use it baking.

But there are some sections on RIU that deal with this sort of question. You might get more responses there.

i make dry ice hash all the time, i don't bother to keep anything i don't see any sugar on. out of a gallon jug of sugar leaves and popcorn buds, i'll get 8-10 grams of hash, which is usually a little more than enough to last me till i get enough trim to make more,

I water cure then do a qwiso, strain and filter then evaporate in a pyrex and de carb the oil in the pyrex. Then I infuse whatever I want infused in that Pyrex. Clean, tasty and potent

yeah but theres definitely SOME thc in there, ive read that from multiple sources. But that's the main reason I kept them separate, figured the trim WITH trikes is way more potent
If you look into Rick Simpsons method, he talked about the other chemicals in MJ like chlorophyl, which he believed were beneficial in addition to CBD, for pro-immuno reception.

I have reused vaporizer grindings in the past with great results. I let them simmer in CLARIFIED butter for up to 4 hours! The longer the better. The key to great tasting cana-butter is clarification or "desalting".
