Main lining from Clone... How difficult is it

Coming to the end of a small grow now, about 3 to 4 weeks out from harvest and was going to do the same set up in a scrog next time through. After reading a lot on main lining techniques I think this particular set up would work a treat. 4 plants (Indica) in 25 litre pots under a 600 in a 80x80x160 space. Any one with experience know how long you can expect to veg for while building the hub of the plant and letting it grow out before the flip? Also i understand it is more difficult to train the plant in this way from clone due to the plant generally growing less uniformed and symetrical than from seed, not to mention a weaker root structure in the beginning. Any one shed some light on how difficult this technique really is and if the rewards justify growing in this style?

Hello mate i main lined four clones just to have a go but it took ages, was a massive ball ache, and did not improve on my standard.

Best method for me and clones is UBs method.
Top for four branches above the second node, after a week or two when the plants have recovered and vegged a bit if there are any weak branches/colas I'll just snip em off and let the energy go to the dominant branches.

the one negative i can think of is clones will have alternating nodes, which might make mainlining a bit harder imvho.. not 100% on that, just a some what educated guess..

Training plants always takes time to do... thats why I'll do these things after the rotations are set & I got a cab thats empty.. but they shape up pretty easily... what makes the mainlining a bit easier if not quicker is the structure of the clone taken...
@tm I'm growing three very identical clones in a pot, I would swear their growth seems synchronized-- all in an attempt for a 'quicker' 12 cola mainline...
So far they are outgrowing my other mainline trainers...
