After this second ballast from HTG i bought (Digital Greenhouse 1000w) is still blowing bulbs i need some options. What is the best digital ballast to go with, i need to run mh and hps. dont want 2 ballasts either. HTG keeps insisting its the bulbs and contiunes to replace them. Recently upgraded me to Agromax now thats blown

Was it the bulb?

I was all set to buy a 600 digital greenhouse until my latest search about their quality. Probably gonna go with the lumatek to be on the safe side.

Just talked to a Lumatek dealer yesterday, and he said he was changing brands due to issues with lumatek Ballast. I'm concedering a Galaxy, or a Quantum with a dimmer switch. Leaning towards Quantum at the moment, they support both MH & HPS bulbs, and run off 120v or 240v. The dimmer on the ballast I think can realy help. If things get to hot, just dial it down, gotta luv that. Or introducing clones/seedlings to the HID lights, you can start at 50% then go up in power as the clones adapt.
This is based on research, not experence so please concider that.
Good Luck

digital greenhouse eats up those agromax bulbs, yes HTG will UPGRADE you, but they dont jive with the digis, they did it to me many times, i insist on the cheaper growbrights and they work 100%, i cant even get an agromax to ingine, other than that greenhouse with growbrights are working well for 5 months so far

Do you mean the magnetic one? Yield master or something like that from Growbright?... I'm growing with a pair of those without issue. Heat isn't an problem, the case gets a little hot but my GR is big with a good AC and Co2.

I'm checking the market for 2 more light systems but didn't know whether to go digital this time. I'd like the soft start and the other cool features of the digitals regarding lamp life spam and PAR rating, BUT either way you'll have to invest in surge protection or power conditioning whichever ballast you choose and still have the bulbs changed after 3 runs so there's no saving money in that regard IMO just an advertising hype for the amateur grower. Galaxy seems to be the digital best overall over Lumatek, but they cost almost 4 times a Magnetic, I rather take the credit and pay 10 bucks more to the electricity company. If somebody proves digitals actually increase luminosity and yield by the advertised percentage I'd sell or ditch all my magnetics. That's what I came here to read.

Btw I use Hortilux bulbs flawlessly, I tried Sunmaster and it blew on me at 2nd week of flowering.

I have 2 Digital Greenhouses 600 watters and have never had a problem in over 2 years. I have Lumatek 1000 watters too and haven't had a problem there either. I've found people who have the most problems bang/hit the shield accidently with the lights on and "stun" the bulbs, essentially breaking them. Be gentle with your equipment and you'll all be better off......
