lst'ing lower branches on 4 week old plants?

so i have a grow journal going for some master kush seeds here. i am getting views but very little feedback so i want to ask a question here since i have started to lst the plants. the main stem growth has slowed and the lower branches are taking off which from what i have read is due to auxins and is kind of what lst'ing is all about. my original plan was to train the main stem around the 3 gallon felt pots perimeter so i'd get a bunch of colas(smaller i know but i am ok with that). it looks to me like i might be better off just training the lower branches towards the perimeter instead and maybe fim'ing the main stem or just topping it. the link to my journal has picture and further info about my grow. i would appreciate any and all input. thanks!

Do exactly what you said the second time. Pull the lower branches out to the outside nice and straight, then top or fim the top.

I usually do this and my plants end up with a ton of budspots. check out the hog journal below if you want to see em.

I have tried mainlining to get 4 heads then lst from there which a journal is in my sig, I did not mean to lst just mainline then but my first time and made a few little mistakes but all is good and a few days off 12/12 has passed so I get them down for xmas feel free to follow my thread an sure u will get quite a bit help on there sun very experienced growers who helped me out a lot

wow! i am half way through the hog grow journal. very nice budage. my setup is weak by comparison... thx for sharing.

mr budolskie-mainlining looks pretty interesting too. maybe i will try that next time out as i think it is too late at this point for my plants. i do like the idea of uniform big buds but i wonder how it would work with my t5 lighting. i have no plans of getting hps at this point in time so i think smaller buds are a better fit for my budget/grow area too.

this is my first time trying mainlining but wont be my last i was gona go for 8 heads each but thought i might not get them harvested by xmas.

i start mine off under a 250cfl in a 3x3ft closet then into a 4x4ft tent under hid for a week or 2 then onto flower i only want good nice buds

lol. i think we all only want good nice buds. it looks like that is what you will get too. the tent i have is actually supposed to be a mothers tent but it was what i was able to swing at the time i bought it. it gets pretty warm even with just h.o. t5 bulbs and then there is the less than optimal situation of growing in a basement where when the lights are off, the humidity shoots up due to the temp drop. i think i have that part figured out this time though.
