u can start lst as soon as the plants have its first few set of true leaves. i use twist ties the kind u git off bread bags jus pull the stem down to bout 90 degrees and tie it down u can train it to go however u want keep the tie on it for bout a week and jus keep doin it to the new growth and u can make the stem go horizontally insted of letting it grow vertically

would u say its worth the risk of snaping or something happening does this method pay for its self if done right like does it give better weight and bigger better buds?

if its done right (slow) you wouldnt risk snaping and aslong as you have time ( lots of time ) to veg it is well worth it

if u dont have alot of vertical space then go for it . it does also helps out yeilds as more lights reach all side branchs. and if u accidently go overboard and hear sumthin snap jus wrap the stem up wit sumthin like teflon tape like a band aid and in a few days the plant will heal itself jus dont break the stem off completely and ull b fine . u can also supercrop her rite b4 u put into 12/12 for bttr yields also

supercrop is wen u pinch the main stems so that everything below the pinch will catch up and thicken up to git bttr yields. if u search they have a thread here explaning bout supercroppin a lil bttr.
