LST + stem q

I just started my first step towards lst.

I took some thread (needle work thread) amd made a noose type knot, took it over the plant where i wanted the bend, and tied it to a hole in the pot. It worked great, but now i am thinking. What happens when the stem grows thicker, wont the thread "cut" into the stem.

I dont know how to word this, but will it be better if it just loops around the stem, giving it growth space, or am i over thinking this?

Just make sure to leave aboit an inch of slack in the loop andmove it every now and then, the stem should grow thicker and be fine just as long as your not lazy and just leave it in place

Its cool to use thread when they are young and tender. But you want yarn type string. Wire in my opinion is to hard on the stem and will bruise her. But this is my newbie work. She 2 months two weeks from seed. 10 days into flower. Shes a true survivor..lolCAM00590-1.jpgCAM00683-1.jpg CAM00750.jpg CAM00751-1.jpg CAM00813-1.jpg CAM00805-1.jpg

That's a good looking green plant, gg7! Nice work. Here's a pic of my LST with the garden wire. It's an insulated green wire. I use alligator clips that hook to the container, then just pull down on the hook and clip them! (the black thread is my screen)

Hey whats up... I let her grow about 6.5" then tied the main stem down. I let the sides grow out... as i did this i notice that she began to grow profusely. So i start tieing side branches down but she kept spitting them out. So when the side branches put out branches i topped original side branches and watched the branches they put grow vigorously. No more topping. So i topped about 5 times and never even topped the main stem.

This is my little mama. Her name is little Tina. I started LST on her but i sent her into flower after a month old to see how she would turn out. But imnit going to continue LST because i dont want her to stress during flower. And i havent read up on wether i could do LST during flower. I just went straight into 12/12. Without knowing but ill research rwal quick to see but idont believe its a good thing.:blsmoke:CAM00714-1.jpgThis is her before any side branches came out she was going on her forth true set but the MG i had her in heated all her fan leaves so i emergency removed them as soon as her sides began shooting good. Its like the fan leaves kept her from getting sick or dying. I planted her in the MG and she was pissed off.CAM00784-1.jpgShe made an amazing recovery though.1413145180796.jpgI really wanted to LST her. But my next grow im going to work magic.:peace::weed:

Hi Tina! Yeah, if you've properly LST during veg (and stretch for a scrog grow)(first 3 weeks of flower), you shouldn't have to do anymore LST until harvest. Just depends on your space. Sometimes you might have to lean colas from hitting the lights in an indoor grow. Again, if you didn't LST properly.
