LST or Let it Be?

Hey y'all, I'm currently growing a Dinafem Blue Kush auto, and I was wondering if it would be better to tie her down and try to shift apical dominance to her lower foliage or let her keep going as is without messing with her. I did some research and I know topping/FIMming are no no's, but LST seems to be more of a case to case thing so I figured I'd present my case and see what y'all think. She is about 3-1/2 weeks old.

leave it alone .......if this is the first time u did this strain ..........u can count this as your baseline

u can super crop .........the branches that are going to bud u pinch it near the stalk it makes a knot in the branch (the knot acts like a dam/pump ) .....i do it to some of mine during the first week of flowering

Good call, yeah it's the first time I've run the strain, it's also the first time I've run an auto, I've only done Photos up to this point. Good idea to get a baseline before I start experimenting. Thanks!

What size led you using in your plants
The one in the back is a 69w (theoretical max, actually draws closer to 35w) with 3w diodes with a 3:1 red:blue ratio, the ones in front are two 12w (~4w actual draw) and one 20w (~7w actual draw) (There are two sizes but it's hard to tell the difference with the lights on) using 5730 SMD chips in warm white. I also have one overhead LED (Which is the only light it had during veg) that is 54w (~25-30w actual draw) with 3w diodes in blue and cold white.

They look good, I got 3 plants under a D's 200 w led, it dose better then my boys 400w hps, I don't under stand it and he don't either lol its only supposed to Replace a 300w hps, my room is only 2x2x8 the light I'm using is for a bigger space so I'm thinking that is why its doing better then his light

That's my light, I got a 15 w led light they gave me free kuz my light came late they advance said the dont make them any moor was going to use it in my room but don't know if it will help of how close to put it to my plant

I think that is probably the case, plus with any regular type of bulb, only 50% of the bulb is actually facing the plants (Unless you are doing a vert grow, in which case you are using 100% of it) and the reflected light, while bright to the eye, is nowhere near as useful. Whereas with an LED, the light is all put out in one direction, so you can get 100% of the direct light to hit the plant. I think this, combined with the ability to get closer to the plants since they run so cool, is why on small scale grows you can see such a drastic benefit from LEDs.

Nice, that looks kinda like a small version of the 54w LED I'm using, I would be willing to bet is uses the same kinda diodes, just 5 of them instead of 18. I know people have had problems with bleaching from putting LEDs too close, but from my experience so far that's probably only a problem when putting a big panel too close, I have a couple 3-4 diode clusters of 3w diodes less than 6" from my plants and they haven't had any problems. I mean you can see how close that 69w light of mine is, it's practically touching the tips of some of the bigger fan leaves, and it hasn't seemed to cause any issues

Yes advance said I will get some bid ass flowers on 3 planes with my light in my small ass room, I got 1 plant in a milk jug its for my gf kuz she likes to smoke my plants b for they are ready and it pisses me off, I had to put a lock on my room, they don't understand you put time Cash and effort in to a indoor grow, what kills me is the 1 in the milk jug is bigger and looking better then my others, but soon as them roots hit the bottom mine will blow it away lol

Yes I got my 200w 17 inches away and no problems

Hahaha yeah, my wife isn't big on patience either. You shoulda seen the look on her face when she found out there is a whole week+ drying stage between cutting them off the plant and when you can smoke them.

I may be cutting it close, but the plant keeps praying to the light like it loves it so I'mma let it go til i see problems. Right now the top of my plant is ~4 inches from my LED.

If it starts bleaching I'll swap the 54w blue and white led for a 42w or 65w 2700K CFL

Nice! I have a big 400w (Actual draw ~200-250w) panel that uses a mix of 3w and 5w diodes that I'm gonna be using for my flower room, and that one I'll be keeping probably 24" away for veg and 18" for flower (As long as they stay short enough to allow that kinda gap) because the light it puts out is just on a whole nother level of intensity compared to the ones I'm using now haha, these ones I can kinda look directly at for a few seconds, the big panel my eyes just clamp shut as if I tried looking at the sun.
