LST/bending technique or pinching?

I just read the FAQ on LST/Bending. If someone could take a minute to answer a few questions please.

Is this the same concept as pinching the nodes to make a plant bushy?

Is this a technique that should be done through out both veg/flowing?

Does this technique produce more shoots than pinching?

Thanks again in advance!!! :weed:

Maybe I wasn't clear when I posted this..

Is bending the plant (LST technique) the same as pinching the tops to produce more shoots?

Is one method favored than the other? Can you do both?

Thanks!

No. It's called LST (Low Stress Training) because people believe that pinching stresses the plant too much (this is something I can't disagree with more). Once done properly during vegging, there's little to do during flowering except making sure all colas are receiving sufficient light.

I started a thread some months ago about LST, I think it was called "Questions as LST Progresses" or something like that. In that thread you can learn how LST works by tricking the plant. What you want to do is get those new colas, all growing off the main stalk, equal height so they all develop buds well. I'm not sure I'm making sense just yet, but anyway...

I've got three girls from my LST grow left. They've all got 5-7 main colas.

There are reasons to choose LST over pinching, topping, or FIMing. One of the main ones is to keep a large plant down to a size that makes it easier to hide or disguise. And then there's the thing of creating more than one main cola for bud production. I hope this helped, I'm not sure I did, though.

It's mainly a vegging technique because by the time you induce flowering, the main stalk will probably be too thick to bend easily.

I have used the LST method from the moment my 3rd node of leaves appears, and have had AMAZING results.

It's not just a veg technique, if you can properly use the LST method, you will not be disappointed. You WILL yeild more using the LST method.

As for topping, fuck that. I quit topping my plants a few months back after I realized that a big fat single cola yeilds much more ON AVERAGE than the multi-cola topped plants.

peace, and good luck.
