Is it ever too late to start tying down autoflowers?

Mine started showing preflowers a few days ago and yesterday i started tying down the taller ones to get the lower branches growing. I was just wondering is this a waste of time as growth on the plants (tied down or not) has seemed to slow. Its my first time growing autos and im wondering if i missed the window of oppurtunity and should have done it while they were still growing quickly a wek ago?

Also one of my autos seemes to have tied its stem in a knot! I dug round the stem and it seems to have done a loop the loop into the ground?? Its quite small and i think it might be restricting the flow up the stem, however its too tough to 'straightn' if i did i think i would cause more harm then good! Ill get a pic up later today and upload it from this computer when i get back as im paranoid about posting pics from a computer in the same place as the grow room lol

aslong as it is actually is LOW stress and not to the point of super cropping i dont see why it would hurt after flowering starts even on the harder branches i grow in limited height so i almost always have a string on every branch and the main stalk all the way till harvest
just my 2 cents

growth probably hasnt slowed much probably just redirecting to its new up
they call it low stress for a reason :D

in my past the earlier the better!
let the plant make use of the tie down method while its still in that grow mode then when it starts to flower heavy it will already be tall and bushy. If you wait to tie down when its flowering its pointless, but you might still be able to tie down before its too late.

autos are living under a different set of rules than photos in that there is a set and determend lifespan, and one wrong move such as: rootbound, unbalanced ph, or over/under saturated media can affect this lifespan greatly by causing stress. This is usually the case when people get 7 grams from a single plant. BTW check out SPYDER from black creek gardens

Thaks guys...A few seem to be responding well with noticeable growth from the shoots, others not really making much difference. I have some flower tabs i just tryna wait a while before sticking them in now
