LST advice pls ?

it depends on how you're training it. i tie and tape to the pot itself, so in my case i have to wait till they're in the final pots. if you want to train it before it's in its final pot you will need to find something to attatch your ties to that's more mobile. it sounds like a pain in the ass to start training if you're going to transplant, though. the actual transplant would be a nightmare if you had branches tied and attatched to things. maybe someone who does this regularly can chime in with some words of advice, but i wouldn't do it. sounds like hell.

I tried it.... Once. I tied a loop around the smaller pot to attach my strings to, till it went into its final pot, which has holes drilled around the top to tie off to. I will never do it early again for reason mentioned. Just not as easy when transplanting with the plant already being spread out.

I think that I would wait until the girl was at her final resting place. If you do a method that seems to work with a future transplant, I would use a cooper wire that has a small hook at the end. Place that hook around the stem and place the other end into the soil medium that you are using. I had seen this on YouTube awhile back when I was asking the very same question. Good Luck F1 !!

I drill holes in all my pots aside from my starter pots. That way I can tie it off any angle, any time I need. I usually transfer twice. So in my starter pots I don't LST at all. Then in the next pot (about 1 gal) I start to do some light LST, just start bending it in the direction I will want it to end up. Then when I transfer into my final pot (4gal) the plant is already to be tied down all over.

I start lst'ing as soon as they are big enough regardless of pot size. i just cllip bulldog clips around the rim of the pot and tie with string. When its time to transplant you just undo all the strings and start again in your bigger pot. Your plants stem will allready be permanantly bent so i dont think it makes a differance. I like to keep em low from start to finish.

One of the video's that I saw on YouTube also had a great idea. He placed his smart pot inside a milk crate ! This gave him ample amount of space to do his tie down's. I know that I will be using that concept once my (4) girls need their transplant in a couple of weeks

You can Lst anytime you like...when you transplant, simply untie and transplant...then if needed tie her down again.
