1st grow journal and 1st time with lowryders. So we'll see what happens...

Day 1, 4/7/09

My buddy grew these lowryders a year ago and pollinated a few and harvested the seeds. The seeds will be started in a 50/50 mixture of perlite and peat moss. They will germinate in the soil with a humidity dome over them.

I have a 216w sunblaze 4' 4 bulb light with 2 blue 54W HO - 6500K bulbs, and 2 red 54W HO - 3000K bulbs.

well here goes, gunna go plant them

no germination yet ahha not quite even 24hr since planted so we play the waiting game, nice amount of moisture on the humidity dome, i think that seedling heat mat really helps

patience is a virute, the soil was a little on the dry side so i misted it a bit, still had good condensation on the humidity dome

well its been awile, things have been crazy so not much time. needless to say the lowryders are not doing well. 4 of the 30 have sprouted, i think the problem lies more in the seeds than my conditions as the basil started under the same conditions are flourishing and 95% germinated. so i figure its kinda a lost cause, my unknown stain is doing great so this was kinda a fun side project/experiment (and the seeds were free) so i guess i'll see how these 4 do and maybe we'll get some more sprouts
