Lowes VS Hydro Store 400w MH

Ok so a 400w mh bulb at Lowes cost $20 but at the hydro store they range from $52 - $115. Ofcourse the people at the hydro store are gonna tell me the ones at lowes are made for street lights and they dont give off the right spectrum of light. Is this true are the lights at lowes crap or are they just trying to sell their bulbs. The brand my hydro store has is sunmaster btw. thanks guys happy growing

mate, why not check the spec yourself - your looking at amount of lumens per watt and red or blue spectrum thats it as far as i can see and i may only be a noob but i have done alot of research.

I have built myself a grow room that is 2.5m3 with a 600w HPS (mine is dual spectrum bulb which means it has mainly red light but there is some blue in the spectrum which means it can be used through veg also) and bathroom fans for intake/outake and cabinet for clones / bonsai mother with total 63w CFL's (2 x 20w 6500k coolwhite & 1 x 23w 2500w warmwhite) and PC fans for intake/outake all for (well in your currency) about $400 - this includes the seeds / soil / nutes / ph meter etc. basically everything.

in other words i try to buy everthing on a budget!!

sorry to waffle on but to answer your question just compare the specifications for each type of bulb - lumens per watt etc. I dont live in the states so cant check out the lowes bulbs - though i will try and check them out online and get back to you.

good luck, all i will say is at 20 bucks its probably worth trying out atleast.

is it the sylvania bulb? 400w with mogul base - $24.98

if so then looks good to me - i dont want to influence your decision too much as there are others that will have far more / better advice to offer than me but my 600w HPS bulb is made by Sylvania and i have researched both the bulb im using and the sylvania bulbs in general and people give have alway given positive feedback.

Yes its the sylvania bulb gonna check the color spec today didnt look at that info b4 i went out yesterday will do that today so im looking for anything 4000 and higher right?

Guess noone else as any imput on the hardwdare store cheap lights vs the expensive hydro store ones or do they lol I'll check back in a few hours then i guess ill just take my noob brain and make a noob decision lol freaking lil bro missed the bus back to bed for me
