Low Humidity

Will low humidity { 20's } cause the weed to be weak? Humidity was low throughout the whole grow. Now the weed has no punch, just almost not worth smoking. I've done something wrong surely. I'm very disappointed with this strain Afghan Kush Ryder from ''World of Seeds''.

No humidity wont do this and your meter sounds like it was under the lights as far too low to believe :-)

ohh no it's believable. My tent sit around 25% RH in the winter without a humidifier going. Sub -40 temps outside and the air gets really dry on the inside. I don't think the low RH will effect the potency that much, but It will slow your growth to a stand still. Expect smaller yields at a few extra weeks grow time. Like @dubekoms mentioned, Mephisto is a good auto seed vendor. Dinafem and Dutch passion also put out amazing Auto's. I would shop those 3 and find what you like. And get a humidifier.

I highly recommend Dinafems white cheese auto, it's tough as nails even in a poor environment. This is a link from my last harvest, 25-30% RH and 64-70 temps with this girl. https://www.rollitup.org/t/dinafem-auto-white-cheese-before-chop.981460/

Most if not all have zilcho conception of -

* Humidity
*Curing
*Drying

You and the op disply this which is why we disagree here :-)

Nobody knows humidity or how to dry and cure except you?? That's your statement? You must realize how foolish you sound?
Of course humidity can get that low. Every been to AZ, NM,? Im gonna guess, no! High elevation? Forced hot air heat in New England, during the winter? Familiar with any of these? Again, nope! Must be amazing to be one of a just a few people that are able to read a hygrometer. Such a complicated undertaking!!

Plus a my humidity sensor is below the light at plant level. It reads the same as above the plant level. Why would it read differently?

Just simply where you say humidity at %20 during a nice grow fucks your bud once done.

Thanks for turning up :-)

Because of light radiations ability to pass unhindered through air and heat a surface.

Its why i wrote most have zilcho idea.... :-)

He didn’t say that, the way I read it was as a question, he was asking if it could. Zogs said there could be issues with low humidity. I don’t see an issue there?

What does that have to do with humidity sensing? We aren’t measuring radiation or heat. We are measuring the airs moisture content.

Not sure what this means! I didn't ask the question. You said rh can't be in the 20s and I am saying of course it can. Nothing debatable here.
Dude I live in the North, humidity is not happening here in the winter especially running a wood stove! Static on clothes etc. My neighbor gave me a cheap humidifier to use until my plants got big enough to transpire. Now I have a controller that vents the room at 58 Rh and stops venting at 50 RH. I played with that ratio until I could achieve a complete air replacement by the time the RH hit the lower limit.
You can buy a controller fairly cheaply and there is no need to spend top dollar on a bad assed fan either. I bought an in-line 4” fan for 50 bucks brand new that will dump hot air or humidity just fine. So long as it can replace the entire spaces air in 4 minutes or less.

Yer there is a debatable point/s -

In your last post where you say i said no where can be 20%, i most certainly didnt and the wuestion was about wether it fucks your budnot wether it can be.

Secondly if you knew what humidity does and dosent and the feebleness of peeps dry and cure info (lol hard at that lol) thrn you simply would have agreed and when you didnt i straight away assumed you were taking the stance of the fact 20% rh does your bud in/smokes like shite as per the oos #1 statement.

Thanks for allowing me to explain :-)

This is your statement, yes? You wrote this? Far too low to be believed? Why? Its a completly believable situation, in like half the US. What could u mean here except, there's no way your humidity is in the 20s?
And if your humidity ain't right, then ur plants ain't right! Of course it can effect your final product.

I feel you! Im in MA with forced hot air. Humidity haunts my sleep! Ha!

Originally I used a trick my buddy said and it worked sorta ok. Fill a Rubbermaid tub 1/4 full of water and drape old towels over the edges to wick water and evaporate it off the towels. It worked fairly well but you can’t control it like a cheap assed Canadian Tire humidifier, I think it was bought new for say 60 bucks? Again, I only needed it until the plants were large enough to transpire and now I have the opposite issue and venting is needed. So I have two 4 inch fans, 1 for humidity and the other for heat dumping which won’t be needed for a couple months most likely. I do use a small heater on the controller now to heat the room when the light goes out to at least maintain 65f. Of course the humidity spikes at night so the vent kicks on and also lowers the temp so the heater makes up for that

Oh forgot to mention, when the room started a month ago with seedlings the RH was 38 with the tub of water and rags. Now without humidifier I keep RH between 52-58 and temps at 77ish. It’s kinda neat because you can watch the plants sweat on the digital meter and sure enough the sight tubes show the water level falling- it ain’t coming out of the bucket! Every 10 minutes or so the room vents and sucks fresh air in. As thenplants sweat more the room vents more frequently.

I have a couple small cabinets that I grow in, so it can be easy to control the enviorment. But also less transpiration, with smaller plants. Also matters a little less because I want/need them to be short/stout. So if it drops a bit and they slow down, especially with some strains, its fine by me!
