i was wondering how you guys keep your plants low and bushy do you top them alot. i live right behind a revine with a creek but dont want some 6ft plants. also how would a smaller plant do in a 5 gallon bucket.

um if its outside it might be tougher but ive heard some ways
topping
lst
and small pots
thats pretty much all i can think of

don't know much but it stands for low stress training and its kind of like a pot bonsia tree in a way, your making the plant bend and grow sideways to save space, search it I may be wrong

love

im doin some lst with this tall fucker, started about 1 week before flower bcos i realised that if it doubled (even tripled!) in hieght during flowering i would have a 12 footer!!! ahaha maybe not but too tall for my backyard none the less..

just pulled it to the side and gona make it extend horizontally as much as possible, let the 'top cola' grow longer vertically then tie it down and so on

this is just how ive done it but there are many ways to keep ur plant low as other ppl have suggested

hope this helps

peace.

are ur plants growing already?

i havent had much hands on experience with topping but from my reading i think u can do it from about 3-4 weeks, but u want it to grow up a few nodes before u top it so it has other places where it can concentrate its growth to.

u should use a combination of lst and topping and i dont think ull any problems keepin it low mate

peace.

ya there about 4 inches tall right now growing in a milk carton. im gonna transplant them to a 5 gallon bucket in a while. also do i really need nutes. im not trying to get some grade a bud just. im basiclly doing this for fun and for some good bud

topping it is the easest but if it gets to bushie and you don't want to keep taking clones or cutting the growth to a certin part 1 kick it to bud, 2 turn the hole plant into shake or 3 kill it off and turn it all into clones

In my neighborhood back home somebody would hop that wooden fence in broad daylight and walk home with your plant slung over their shoulder. You must live in an area where people are somewhat civilized lol. That plant be gone in a heartbeat where I'm from. You dont have that thing hidden?

I know plenty of people who have had theres yanked keeping them out in the open just like that. Would be a shame to lose such a nice plant.

LST works well, cropping too take your pick. LST will take more time and effort but you can create some amazing plants using that method.

i have a plant that would take atleast 6 blokes linking arms to go right arround and is about 10 foot tall "if i didn't LST it" so it stands about 8 foot tall, you have to pull your main stem down, attatch string 'twine' tie it to something, this will promote all side branching 'BIG TIME' ALL THIS WILL DO IS INCREASE YOUR YEILD CONSIDERABLY, i am posting pics of my plant very soon

drill holes around the top of the bucket than top after the 2nd node than top those nodes and repeat. As it get bushy use the hole you drilled and string to tie down the branches. This with good organic soil and nutes will get you a bucket full of kholas. I do it in 20 gallon buckets with sunshine mix #4 supertea for veg and budswell for flower, also an indica dominate strain is best for keeping it low and bushy.
