road trip....time to get outta "dodge".
got it all dialed. replaced the master cylinder. brake pedal was mushy. flushed the cooling system. it had moss growing in it. that's it. my horn doesn't work and i have 1 back-up light out. that's all they could find wrong with it. my motor guy loved it. said he knew someone who's been looking for the exact same truck for awhile now. they drove it and were impressed with the power it had. everyone had smiles including me. i think i did good. i have to give credit to my wife. she damn near insisted i buy it. she went with me to look at it. usually i have to convince her. not this time. as soon as she saw it in person she said "yes". thank you honey.
it has a carter "thermo-quad" carb on it. YES, it is plastic. my motor guy just kept laughing at it. he was walking around telling people. apparently when these carbs get hot the tend to warp due to the fact thtat they are made of plastic.i can throw a nice high-performance one on it if i feel the need. for now though i'm happy.
so, i have some cash. i'm registered and insured. got 4 wheel drive with new tires. no job to report to. now what?
