Looking for shopping list for 2' x 2.5' organic soil grow

Hey all,

I'm a total newbie, and looking for some help in deciding what to buy to get my grow going.

I recently placed an order with The Source, and will begin my grow with Cookies Kush from Barney's Farms.

I'd like to grow with organic nutes in soil for my first grow, though I am excited about hydro in the future. Here's what I have so far:

- Growing out of Seattle, WA, USA
- Overall budget for grow is ~$400 (do have a little wiggle room)
- Want to do LED or COB LED due to efficiency and heat, as grow will be in semi-warm laundry room

I'm hoping for some advice on my lighting, ventilation and nutes. I'm also fine with DIY solutions to lighting, as I've seen that some people have been building COB units and I'm a bit of a tinkerer myself.

Do any of you have advice or grow journals you can point me to?

Do you have a grow box or something or are you growing inside a cupboard or something.
you WILL need an exhaust fan I would think because the laundry is going to be humid as fuck, even if/when its cold the humidity from dryers etc will push the plants.
also 2 foot is a pretty small area even with an indica strain like Cookies Kush, you will have to start flowering the plant by about 12inches.
Your best bet is to mainline/LST/FIM one plant in that size space, it might sound stupid but one plant mainlined/Scrog/Fim under a big light will give you a better result.
also with soil you don't need much on the nutrient side as the soil contains most of the elements required for the plant to grow, find a hydroponic shop nearby and ask for some growth and bloom nutrients for SOIL.
it should only be 2 bottles but they may swing you into a 3 part nutrient feed which isn't a bad thing, expect about $30 per bottle and you shouldn't be disappointed at the checkout.
As for your lights I would recommend ONE 130W CFL (compact fluorescent lamp) with a 6500K globe for Veg growth and a 2700K globe for flowering.
