Okay, I have done a lot of reading and I know the differences between CFL and HPS.. So, I'm not a super noob...
I asked this in my grow journal to the guys who frequent it. I'd like to ask a larger audience their opinions as well.
I'm looking for some intellectual feedback on this particular setup going with my particular grow.
Original idea: Full grow using all CFL. 1-2 plants, 8(42w) + 1(85w) CFL for flower.
Now, orginally I wanted the CFLs due to price and heat of the HPS... But now I am considering differently.
Currently I am in veg. I will not be using anything other than what I've got for my veg. So Im not looking for input on that stage

I keep contemplating this particular setup though... I mean, as much as I think CFLs ARE able to produce decent enough buds for myself, I almost think it would be EASIER, CHEAPER, and less HEAT in the long run with this.

Now again, my original things against HPS were COST and HEAT. However, I have since learned about cooltubes. I also have realized I could get this light setup, and DIY cooltube for about $70.. Maybe $100 max if I break something.
I feel now, that having the CFLs up in my box are going to cause way too much heat. I have 7(26w) CFLs now for veg and the heat is fine... But having 8(42w)+1(85w) CFL seems like it will be too hot.
Also, price.. I thought all HPS setups were around $300 or something but as I said, I could get this done for under $100.
The CFLs will be a total of $100ish themselves.
So the big questions are:
1. What's better? This particular 150w of HPS or 416watts of CFL
2. Is this particular 150w of HPS enough for my size of space and number of plants?
3. If this particular 150wHPS is enough for my plants, HOW enough is it? Is it just barely enough? Is it just right? Is it more than enough?
4. If you answered "150wHPS better", "yes it's enough", "its more than enough" to the 3 prior questions then I have another one for ya... Since I will be using a cooltube with this light... How close can I put my plants to it?? Can I put them pretty damn close since I have a cooltube?
Please refrain from "CFLs SUCK" replies. I'm looking for real genuine feedback. Thank you guys a ton.
