I know most of y'all will not read this b/c i'm a cfl grower. But. I know most of you have at least a little experience growing with cfl's.

I have a simple question. In a couple o' weeks i'm going to harvest my first crop. Small yield, small budget, little knowledge. Anyways, I'm treating my first, as a learning curve. I have a buddy who is willing to sell me a 400 watt HID for a good price and i'm planning on taking my grow to the next level; ill be ordering some Cinderella99 and some white widow from overseas if i can find them. With fox farm and nutes that are TBA. But before, (he graduates) I'm gonna grown one more crop with cfl's.

My question is (using scrog) what is the max, approx, diameter of bud that, at least 150 watts of cfl (per plant) will penetrate. I'm going for large colas...
I have seen bud grown in the cali sun that was still green in the middle. (which seems impossible to me cuz we checked the color of the Trich's and they were a solid amber.
I was wanting to know if anyone knows what is the optimum size one should shoot for when growing indoor so that all the colas will be "ripe" all the way through. I've had roomates that grew outdoor with clones from the club. I have watched and gained plenty of experience through both their mistakes and mine. I just want to learn as much as i can, and make sure my harvest is the best it can be, with what i got.

Any advice on avoiding waste and producing the best I can would be helpful. Thanks

Sorry to say this, but I'm still at least 3-5 weeks away from my next step. Right now i'm just finishing up my first grow ( for a little x-mas bud, rest assured it will be smoked with at least a foot of snow on the ground.) [which i think is awesome b/c due to extenuating circumstances i have yet blaze w/ any amount of snow on the ground] Right now i'm just looking for a general "rule" with nugs grown indoors under cfl's.

PS. Love your stuff cannawizard. One of the first posts that i followed on this site was ur 12/12 competition(s). Which i absolutely love. I'm a big fan of minimalism, and 12/12 from seed is in my opinion the epitome of that, and as a new grower it kindof sets the bar for what the minimum i should accomplish!

Thanks for responding, looking forward giving you NGG and Kev Murphy some competition sometime in the future!
