I have been growing for a little while now.... Always on a budget, in limited space and/or covertly. In the past I had made my own switchable lighting systems out of ballast kits, wall switches, and reflectors of bent aluminum roof flashing obtained at the local home supply. A few different ebb and flow setups using plastic storage bins, pales, pluming supply's, and aquarium pumps. All pretty simple, perhaps even crude but valuable learning experiences and suitable for my needs at the time.
I have recently been afforded some great luxuries that alleviate my prior constraints.
Provoking me to for-fill the longstanding vision of a perpetual harvest grow room.
So here's the limitations:
Legal:
1, No more than 100 living plants at any given time.
2, No more than 1lb dried plants at any given time.
Space:
1, No more than 10' x 20'x 7'
Power:
1, No more than 1.7kw consumption at any given time
So far I have purchased 4 flood tables 3 foot square each on a wheeled stands with a lower shelves for their respective 20 gallon reservoirs. A reflective tent about 6'6" cubed, and a second one about 2'x4'x6'
For lights I have a 600w hps, and a pair of 125w CFL's
A single 400cfm inline fan (big tent)
A couple 75cfm fans (small tent)
Pumps (both aerating and circulating)
Several trimmers
The intention so far is to keep the mother plants and clones in the smaller tent under the florescents, with a new batch of 16 cuttings rooted every 2 weeks. From there the rooted clones will be placed 16 per 3ft flood table into the larger tent under the 600w hps for 8 weeks 12/12 light cycle. 16x6= 96 (good) though i cant imagine needing more than 4-8 mother plants so its more like 84-88 (keeping it a little more comfortable)
The strain I chose to use this time around is new to me "Wappa" advertised as producing up to 500g per square meter in ideal circumstances (about a pound, so it's good) though in my past experiences those estimates tend to be a little on the optimistic side (keeping me a little more comfortable).
Here's where the questions start...
What reflector will best suit the demands of my flowering tent?
Is 400cfm going to be sufficient air exchange for such a setup? (there wont be any co2 enrichment)
How many mother plants should I maintain to reliably pull 16+ root-able clippings every other week?
My tables are 7" deep but the net pots I intend to use are only 5", should I fabricate a cover for the table with holes in it just large enough to accommodate the pot size so that they are suspended a couple inches above the bottom of the table?
Any insight or advice is more than welcome, I have never done a perpetual harvest setup or used professional type equipment so I am sure there is alot for me to learn.
Thanks for taking the time to try and help me out.
