Well ... I'm glad I found this thread and I hope those of you from Michigan read it again.
I was on the same path. I live in Seattle where it is about to MOST LIKELY become legal in just a couple days.
There are some bad things that come with it ... but yeah. Actually if you watch the full 2012 Cannabis Cup Debate in Seattle on Youtube, you hear me get pissed off in the audience and I mumbled something unintelligible thing about testing the other Cannabinoids .... and I wanted to continue on with my rant because I was getting very frustrated. Then they reprimanded and told me it's not a forum for questions and that they already had the questions submitted. ugggh Sometimes it's hard to keep quite. lol
But any way. Back to the subject of Michigan. My magazine is talking about sending me for the magazine and I was thinking about buying a house with a couple patients ... I think you can have 5 in a house?
I mean ... homes are like $10,000 for a livable home. That's crazy. And you can have 12 plants. That's enough for me. If I'm not eating it, that's way more than enough for me. In Seattle we can have 2 pounds. We eat a lot of brownies here. lol Walmart must sell brownie mix by the cart load. hahaha
It's fantastic. It's created jobs for a lot of people I knew growing up, who are now old and near or are at retirement ... and they smoke. Always have. Now they can make a couple dollars on the side to pay the bills.
This isn't a get rich quick business here for anyone thinking it's the next Gold Rush ........... but it can be depending on how you handle it.
I work for a medical marijuana magazine. It is absolutely legal. Freedom of Speech. High Times has been around forever ... although we are medically focused and not about EVERYBODY smoking freely. Although I think personally, anyone over 18 should be able to do anything they want in the privacy of their own home. This drug war is a failure.
I see Michigan as a great place for the medical and legal marijuana to create a great industry and a product we can sell to the ENTIRE world once legalized.
And ... IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. We will dominate the market if we legalize it. Although ... the big tobacco companies will run it. They've had the trademarks for 30 years already. Just waiting.
Is their anyone in their 30's who has REAL injuries or chronic pain of some sort that is looking to roommate up and buy a house together? I figure if we all pitched in $5,000 we could buy a pretty nice house. And if you are a writer, editor, graphic designer, computer genius (5 years industry experience) with a knowledge of Cannabis ...
I have a job for you as well ... maybe.
As far as I understand you can be paid by a patient to be their caregiver and do this for 5 patients as well. Is that correct? Does this include ... in their home and I can only help 5 different patients in their own homes ... or can I help a number of patients in their own homes but only 5 in my own?
All grows are agreed to be searched by all roommates to show you are not breaking the rules and jeopardizing our living situation.
I also breed American Bullies (new breed of Pitbull with much of the animal aggression bred out and selected for show qualities).
So ... no dogs allowed to come along unless it's an American Bully of extremely famous blood in it's 3 generation pedigree.
I want to get into training security dogs as well considering Detroits crime rate and selling home security dogs as a business ... for those interested in that as well.
Breeding is my hobby. It's almost like playing God. muahahahaha lol
The dogs will stay separated. Unfixed females preferred.
