Can anyone recommend me a good strain that doesn't put you to sleep and is good for the day? Preferably energizing (no diesel-burnt tire-skunk smell) and with good taste. Any help appreciated.

Crockett's Tangie is my suggestion. Or a cross. Super amazing orange flavors, energetic high. Lots of crosses available, I am growing one from Green Bodhi now that smells like a can of frozen OJ concentrate.

There are just too many to list, this is my favorite type of weed too, I wouldn't even bother with indicas or most hybrids if I didn't have arthritis and insomnia. I second Kali Mist, it really is the Queen of sativas, just remember, sativas require more of a time investment than hybrids or indicas and people are notorious for losing patience, harvesting them early, then trashing the strain because they didn't grow it to it's full genetic potential. Lots of ACE Seeds strains fit the bill too: I love their Panama and Honduras, but they have probably a dozen other strains that would do well for you. For a short flowering time strain with an "up" high, I recommend Warlock (now sold by Serious seeds, formerly Magus), it's an oldy but a goody back from when breeders actually bred and selected specific traits from hundreds of plants.

Actually, two other great options that I tend to forget to mention in these threads are Durban Punch by Tropical Seeds and Lilly by Delicatessen. These are great overlooked strains (from great overlooked breeders) that stay close to their landrace roots-Lilly has the Congo sativa pina colada flavor.

Jack Herer had me bouncing off the fucking walls. Hate that shit but it smells and tastes great. Who knows what it will do to the next person but that's the joy in finding something that works well for you.

I ended up ordering Queen Mother from Delicatessen and Lilly too. I want to see the difference in high/taste/smell, but I am pretty excited. Thanks for the recommendations.
