lookin for some advise

I'm wanting to get in to hydro what would be the best to get started with Dwc areoponics top drip and what are some pros and cons of each I'm thinking of getting a couple top drip buckets that also have sprayers what you think about that for someone looking to get into hydro

I think it's best to start cheap and simple which is why I started with DWC. Also, something about a 5 gallon root ball makes me smile. Either way, there is a learning curve and some prerequisites to think about that will heavily impact your grow.

PH and PPM pens/meters are required up-front investment
Have a plan to keep your water temp under 70*
Decide if you will run bennies or sterile, root rot will take over quickly in DWC if you don't take preventative measures. You will most likely need one or the other in hydro.

Also consider the size of your grow and how long you want to veg. For example aeroponics would be more suitable for a 12/12 from clone sog than DWC... DWC would be more suitable for a 2 month veg in a scrog. If you want to run 20 sites, well DWC would get old fast and you would want to convert to undercurrent or go with aeroponics.

I always recommend using a waterfarm, it is a combination of DWC and drip system. I have been using one for years with phenomenal results. Why not start even simpler with Hempy Buckets (https://www.rollitup.org/drain-waste-hydro/546006-world-hempy.html). They are a passive hydro systems, practically idiot-proof (no offense!). They are as forgiving as soil if you screw up, and they produce yields similar to active hydro. It is also much easier on the wallet, too!

Either way make sure you do some research before you start spending money on equipment. Good luck with your grow!

High Mal-----why do you think so?

Hurts my lazy bone just thinking about. Water culture screams for pump/s if only to change nutes.

If you tried to do a sog in dwc you would have to maintain a bunch of individual buckets which is a lot of work. You could try doing a bunch of small plants in a giant res or rdwc/ucdwc but I would still think aero would have the advantage for sog. I have heard in a proper aero setup, root growth speed can't be beat. I have never done aero so I don't know.

Agree again--I run medium less aero using 6"x10' schedule 40 pvc pipe. I thought u were implying aero was not suitable for large plants ( I start flowering veg plants 3-4' tall).

IMO, if done correctly----aero is the most effective nute delivery method we have. I've run aero for years.
