longer dark periods for a faster harvest?

Hello good people.

can anyone tell me if after 4/5 weeks of 12/12 i can do 14 hours darkness for a faster yield.

i have been told by going from five weeks of 12/12 to 10/14 then even 8/16 it will mature quicker but be 25% less weight.

anyone know about this?
