Long Stretchy Stems in DWC

Hello everyone

I am new to growing, this is my 5th attempt, and finally I managed to germinate my "LAST" seed.

I started the germination in Rapid Rooters Tray. Then I moved it to the DWC, unfortunately my lights was high (learned the hard way) so my plant stretched as you can see in the picture (about 4 inches) so I added support to the plant to keep it up.

As this is my last seed, and it is kind of impossible for me to get more seeds in my part of the world I am worried to lose my plant.

Am I ok? Will my plant continue to grow? Will the stretch harm my grow?

What is you recommendations?

Thanks,

It'll be okay. Just support it like you are and keep the light close from now on. Don't burn anything though. If it's you're Last seed, make sure you take clones before you flip to flower so you can keep growing bro!

Keep the lights low but not so they burn her (put your hand just above the plant and if it's uncomfortable for your hand then it's too hot for the plant)
Keep it supported and it'll be fine

Hello

Thank you all

My mistake was the light far because I burned the previous seeds so I was afraid to lose my last seed.

Now I am using G8LED 450W LED it is about 50cm (19inch) on top of the plant. Also I am using VenTech 440 CFM, 6" fan + 2 Active Air 6" 5W Magnetic fans in the tent.
I am trying to keep temp between 25c during the day and 20c at night, and humidity around 45%

Today is the first time I change the water (2nd week after germination)

pictures I took today :

I hope everything goes fine, can't wait to roll it up :bigjoint:

Hello everyone

It's day 12 now, trying to control the humidity and heat, it's a real pain with a very dry hot weather!

I added:
1- Water chiller to keep the water at 20c at all time.
2- Humidifier inside the tent, attached to Humidity Controller Sensor to auto switch on/off.
3- Evaporative Water Cooler outside the tent, attached to Humidity Controller Sensor to auto switch on/off.

I am trying to set :
daytime : tent temp around 25c, humidity between 45~50%
night time: tent temp around 20c, humidity between 40~45%

Are these good numbers or should I change them ?

I noticed the 1st leaves started to twist yesterday, also I noticed change in color (spots) on one leave (attached today images), should I do anything or this is normal ?

Your advice are highly appreciated :)

Your plant is thickening nicely (good supports)
With DWC your humidity levels around your plant are going to be fine, you really don't need to add more.
Pot can grow well in a dry climate, it's the excess humidity that will harm your bud.
Chillers are nice too have, but remember to have a LOT of air in the bucket because the roots need the O2 which is depleted in warm water.
Your numbers are good, and your seeing normal growth.
Also make sure you have good air movement in your tent, to get rid of the heat.
Good luck :)

It's far too easy to over water seedlobgsm they do not need much, and shouldn't get much to force those roots to stretch out and find it in soil/coco.

Hello again

It's day 15 for my plant, changed the water, and started training, and don't know if I am doing it the right way.

Your advice is highly appreciated.

Thanks

When you train you have to have an idea of your goal, typically it's done to keep a growing tip growing horizontally or to prevent it growing up till lower branches have a chance to reach the same height. Also it's done on the stalk of the growing tip and not the fan leafs.

Hello
I was thinking that is what I am doing, but from your reply it looks I am doing it wrong :wall:
I don't want to cut and hard training, just a simple one as this is my 1st grow and last seed, and afraid to damage it.

I am lost, what do you recommend ?!

There are very detailed training tutorials on this site and others, read them as they offer all the info and photos
