Lollypopping (a new one to me)

Lollypopping is were you remove the bottom 3rd of the plant's foilage here's a before pic.

This help's the plant to concentrate all it's energy into producing big fat nugget's becaues the rootmass is now putting all those nuitrant's and energy up to the top of the plant were it recives the most light so the plant doesn't end up wasting it on producing fluffy airy bud's at the bottom were hardly any light get's through.

a new one mogie??? you've never heard of people pruning the lower branches that might just make popcorn nuggies?

... and wouldn't you want to do this during veg with atleast a week or two for the plant to recooperate from getting all chopped up???

i think i saw fdd say that he generally cuts of those lower branches in that manner and then uses them for some clones (if it was somebody else i'm sorry to them and fdd)

i have lollypoped my 3rd grow it seem to help i got 1/4 yeild from each plant under 250 hps 1&2nd grow 2 to 3 grams with out lollypopen but steal need more yeiled thinking of lst or fim what do you guys think

my buddy does a 4 x 8 table with 40 plants. he strips all the lower 1/3 of the plant during the 2nd or 3rd week of flower. i've taken some of these branches and used them for clones. theoretically you could root these and have them ready to use as soon as the first crop is finished. you would never need a mother.

this technique also helps with airflow through the underparts of the plant... and we all know how important air movement is!!!!

its a good idea but plant can be in depression if you cut much am i true ?

this method is best when doing sea of green as then those lower branched dont really get much light. you may have taken a little too much off, he looks a bit naked down there! and yeah you dont want to stress your plants either, too much pruning can be bad

check out youtube and see how green house seeds do it. im pretty sure in the white widow grow they talk about lollypopping

don't go too mad with the stripping of bottom growth or ya loseing out on bud that can be used for hash/oil

Only lollypop if you're doing SOG.

The more dense the SOG, the more aggressive you should lollypop.

If the canopy isn't completely full, you actually need some of the lower branches to stretch up to canopy level.

plant looks like they finished nice...did you trim the lower stuff off when them in vegg or flower ?

lst works like a beast esp under cfl or lower light or smaller space

I trimmed in the first week of flower but I should have done it in veg...I wasnt going to do it at all but I had one of my friends look at it and he said that with how packed I made my tent I probably would start having bug and mold problems if I didnt open up some of the lower growth and put a fan on the soil level. It worked out well I was happy with what I made out with on the plants
