Lollipop or not?

uncalm

I have 2 white russian bushes right now. They're only 2ft tall but thick and bushy. I have a 400w hps and several cfls for side lighting. Even the lowest side branches have lots of growth. I am going to be in veg for a few more weeks. Should I cut the lowest branches so that the top gets all the plants budding energy and light? The last pic is me moving the bottom branches over to show the interior.

listen uncalm, learn to re-calm lol. smoke moar. :leaf:

I would say yes, you can definitely trim your lower sidebranches, but leave the fan leaves intact. Take and root some clones from the cuttings if you got the patience. Dont trim everything all at once, either, the plants can go into shock from too much cutting. Do it over a day or two

straight "lollipopping" is better for a sog with plants flowered from 10'' or smaller

yeh if your vegging and want trees no need to lollipop really especially seeing as your lower branches are your biggest usually id let it be.
lollipopping is for sog when the plants are so close together they get smothered and theres physically no room for sidegrowth. yours look fine id leave it be.

imagine if you had plants so close together they look like your bushes w sidegrowth where would theyre sidegrowth go? thats when lolljpopping is useful. good job tho.

I wouldnt personally. some strains( like the white widow Im growing) dont like to be topped or trimmed. I get a full harvest in 8 weeks flat. If you trim and top and trim some more, add another 6 weeks to your timeline depending on how stressed the plant can get.

Only take the dead leaves off. Bend out of the way, but dont fucking trim off perfectly good fan leaves.

sorry.
