I imagine sea creatures make for a better micronutrient mix, but fuck, I got crawdads out here up the ass...I wonder how different the two really are in nutrient profile...

Years ago LSU came out with a mix of worm castings, cricket castings, crawfish shells and several other things. It was supposed to be the shiznit from what I read. Never tried any but I used to love using crawfish shells and worm castings in my garden. I had tomato plants that were in 6 ft cages and then laid over and ran another probably 12 feet along the ground....I also put a small bream or catfish in the bottom of every planting hole. You can't go wrong with organics.

Heh, old-school.
I couldn't even think of doing it, though... Every critter in a mile radius would come to dig my ladies up, I already have a problem with the local foxes loving feather meal.

Yeah critters are a constant problem. I put the fish in the bottom of the hole and kind of chop it up with a sharp shooter shovel, then sprinkle a heaping spoonful (serving spoon) of quick lime on top and stir it around a little. The quick lime seems to deter the animals for the most part. I had coyote problems a few years back. They would dig down through the side of the planting row but once they got into the quick lime they would give up. It would burn their paws/mouth if I had to guess. That shit is brutal. Using the organics like that seems to increase the worms /grubs in the soil....that leads to moles. Those little fuckers are EVIL! They love pepper and tomato roots for some reason. I was working one morning in the garden and it was like the cartoons where the whole plant gets sucked into a hole. No shit. So I had to get castor bean plants. Plant a few of those around and you'll never see another mole.
