Hey there guys so here is the skinny, I got my ladies outside in 3 gal pots right now. The bottom leaves are starting to yellow while the inter veins are staying green, also new growth has been stunted and new leaves are coming out very thin and small...Here are some pics I have watered once with 1tbl epsom salts and sprayed down once with 1/4 tsp per spray bottle of epsom salts, now Im gonna wait till they dry out for a few days and see where I am at...I am scared to add cal/mg though as I heard my crappy tap-water may have too much calcium in it which is locking out my Mg...I am using a tall boy water filter and just changed the filters...any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated...

did you spray it while the sun was out? I dont know if salt can cook leaves but just a thought. Ive never used salts yet. your ph seems ok. Maybe get some goood vegg nutes or use guano. looks to be a MG problem maybe

Nah I would never spray till about 6pm...I'm using subcool's supersoil recipe which is loaded with blood meal, bone meal, 2 kinds of guano, worm castings and a bunch of other good stuff, I buy high quality complete soil(roots organic) and ammend it even further so I do not get deficiencies or need to water with any liquid nutes(usually)...but there is just something up with either the calcium in my water or there is not enough Mg in my mix...I'm not sure...still tryin to research...may want to invest in an RO machine from what I found so far...tap water here is like 8.0 PH and smells like pool water..even with the tall boy filter maybe it's just not enough...

looks burnt up. but you gotta be careful with subcools soil. not good for smaller plants, heard alot of complaints about burnt plants.

all new growth is so spindly and a bright lime green almost on its way to yellow...growth has seemed to almost come to a hault!!! I dont get it!!

I hope thats not the case...I even scaled back about 20% from subcool's recipe because it sounded so hot! I know some of those leaves are showing signs of Mg defic as well... I put at least a 2-3 inch layer of normal roots organic soil as a buffer and have only been giving plain filetered Ph'd water!!... I just got new filters in my tall boy maybe that was giving me more calcium than I wanted and I will be good now...I don't know. hopefully they will grow into it and not burn to death haha

Only difference is my new growth is looking great, it's all old growth on my plant. That makes me think we might share a issue but that yours might be suffering from one more as well. Your outdoors too, ahh the great outdoors, I've done this many more times outside and never seen what your seeing. I'll keep you posted on what I figure out, and I'll keep checking back in here to see where you go, I think we both just need to wait though, you know, and see what effect the last action had before we start throwing more variables in the mix.
How many days has it been since you said you flushed? When did you transplant into your subcool mix? and when did you feed with some magnesium?

curiosity, how do you take your readings? ph, ppm ect?

I have only givin my plants plain filtered tap water up until this point, I gave 1tbl of vitamin B when transplanting and that is it, then recently I saw this defic. (I think it's a combo of a bit of burning from the SS and a bit of a Mg problem) So yesterday I tried watering 2 plants with 1tbl epsom salts and tried watering 2 with 5ml/cal/mg and am gonna leave the rest alone as a control group...But yes I do agree we need to just step back and let them dry out a few days and think about our next move..haha
PS i do not check PPM as all my nutes are in the soil, and i check PH using the liquid drops I just ph to "yellow". I have invested in 3 ph meters all to break within months, and I hate the care and time they take and found myself always second guessing the meter and comin right back to the drops. Let's keep each other posted in the next few days...thanks for the help...

If it's only been a day then yes we defiantly need to wait and see what happens, that's awesome that you have a control group to work with, I'm got one plant, that's one reason that I am as eager to do it right as I am.
I'll keep you posted if I learn anything that could be useful, and I'll be checking back looking to learn something here as well. God bless.
peace

I am still trying to let them dry out, I have not had much sun here for the last 7-10 days, plants only seeing a few hours of sunlight a day if any...I shot a few more pics, they def are stunted..the nodes are just stacking up on each other and new growth is so spindly and dwarfed. I am now thinking I have more of a calcium deficiency that anything else, as my new growth seems to be affected more that the lower leaves...not sure what to do, I may start buying RO water from the store and flush them with that a few times then start giving them RO with a tiny bit of cal/mg added in...Just finished harvesting my light dep and had none of these problems whatsoever... not a clue...anyone please chime in with and ideas, thanks...
