i flushed my plant a few days ago because of problems i had with it, now there are a bunch of tiny black flies in the pot. the plant looks very healthy and growing quick so im not to worried about them, but would like to get rid of them. anyone have any suggestions??

probably fungus gnats. I had em. Theyre hard to get rid of. It sounds like youre using soil. Im hydro. I used azamax and added it to the res for 24 hours, this kills the adults and larvae but not the eggs. So you have to apply again 5 days later to kill the hatched eggs/new larvae. I also sprayed with PureSpray Green. Also a cup of Apple Cider Vinegar with a couple drops of liquid dish soap attracts and drowns them. If you dont see any in the cup in a couple days, it means you either added too much soap or not enough. Also get yellow sticky traps. If you can, cover your soil with something So its harder for them to get into, thats what I did.

sounds like fungus nats, you can do a number of things have a small fan blowing gently over the top of the pots. This helps dry out the top layer of the soil quickly and the little buggers love moist/damp soil. Don't water so often let the soil dry out a little more before watering. You can also get some yellow sticky strips at any big box store. A good home remedy is put some vinegar in the bottom of a narrow neck bottle and put it beside the pots, they fly in and die. If you got a few no big deal they don't do much.

go to home depot or lowes and buy some mosquito dunks.Take a couple and crush them in a zip lock bag.Spread it all over top soil every 3 wks or so.This will keep the larvae(from fungus gnats) from eating your roots and killing your plant. You can tell if the larvae are there and getting worse if when feeding, the water doesnt drain as well as it did a few days earlier
