this is gunna be my first time growing and was wondering what kind of light system i should get? my buddy says to get a digital one cause its makes less noise. is that true? cuase its more expensive and if i dont need it then i dont want to get it. more infor or an answer would be great. thanks
 
If you're trying to be economical, you can check out the grow in my signature that uses T8 fixtures.

But I would highly recommend a HPS for growing. It seems you need to look through the FAQ and a few stickies.
 
ok i was gunna get a hps / mh conversion setup but its not digital my friend told me it would be to loud. idk i thought it was a good setup thats y im asking if i should go with the digital or not
 
Oh and digital won't make a significant difference, slightly less power consumption I believe.

But seriously the sound of your light should be the last of your noise related issues.
 
A coil wound balast dont make much noise unless its very old or bust, a digital gives about 30% more light from same bulb and normaly has a better startup to make ya bulb last longer, hope this helps?
