Lights for seedlings?

8 of my seeds spouted and I had those babies under a 400w MH, I didn't keep them too close t the light because I didn't want them to die.

They were stretching and had minimal leaf growth, I took the 400w closer and some of them didn't seem to like it very much.

I bought 3 desk lamps in which I put

1x13w

2x26w

and thay all have one lamp at 2-6" away from their leafs... will I get better results?

I know wait and see but still I want to know if my setup will help them grow big healthy leaves.

Thanks for the help.

I think they are 46'ers they equal out to a 150w. they are the biggest cfl bulbs you can buy at the stores...

but you have the right idea with the distance... seedlings like humidity also, you can spray them every day with a fine mist. it will help.

I use the 4ft 40W tubes, but it sounds like you've got everything under control.

I think the cfls right on them will get the results you're looking for. After they're established drop the mh on them :peace:

I have started seeds under 26 watt daylight cfl's before, I use 5 or so so them to start up to 20 seeds. But once i see the first true leaves they go straight under the a 400 hps provided i already have it running for something else, i wouldn't run the 400 for seedlings alone as it would seem to be a waste of electricity but i'm sure it would work.

I don't think I'm fit to be a dad, seeing the way I treat my seedlings I'd be so overfuckingprotective the little guy would barely be able to breath.

edit: good thing you don't have to harvest your kids.
