Lights for new starter

Hello, so me and my partner went to local hydroponic store to start on our kit to start growing bud, and the guy at the store said for the first 3 weeks of growing it we need a blue light, then we need HPS light for flowering.. Can anyone give me advice how should we start off on the lights?

If you have the cash get hps with a mh conversion bulb or just get both lights.But if you plant on doing 1 grow at a time then stick with just 1 light with switchable bulbs.MH to veg then flower with the hps.But if all else fails and cash is tight u can do just fine with a hps.

k thanks, and one quick question, about the nutrients, i heard we need several nutrients for each set of time, for example for veging we need different nutrients and for flowering we need different? Which nutrients will you recommend? I also heard you just need 1 nutrient for the whole process, i don't know if its true..

I use guano and it seems to work fine by itself and its organic.....I believe u get better flavor with organic nutes.

isn't that for people who grow in soil? i am doing hydro, underwater culture....

Get something high in n for veg and for flower low in n and high in p and k.

k thanks, and also the guy is like you gotta clean the water in the bucket every 4 days since i am not circulating it, is it true or there is other incentives i can take..

he said i got to pour the water out every 4 days or so and put new water and new chemicals inside...

You can do it every week or 2.Get some air pumps for the res that should help out.Butt you still have to change the res even with air pumps.
