lights and ballast

do i need 4 ballasts for 4 1000 watt lights to be run at the same time? and does anybody know if its good to use a genator to keep electric down?

you can use a generator,but filling it up with petrol constantly wont be cheap

Each bulb will need it's own ballast.

yeah, you'll need 4 ballasts, and that generator idea not only sounds very expensive but you will then need to find some way to ventilate the garbage given off by that thing before it gets to your plants, I'ld just pay the electric bill. Not exactly a green idea either, I don't know where you live but if your willing to go that far and spend the extra money on gas why don't you try solar or even wind.

Idk, the gas may be cheaper than the electric bill...Four thouwous would cost a pretty penny to run. Your bill could be any where from 170 a month to 350ish. Using a generator could help on your bills.
