2 questions i need help with. one is my plants are 2 months old and i havent seen anything that will point to them being male ( such as the little white balls so i have heard. ) should i be able to tell? and second is when to i switch to 12/12 lighting hours? please help

under 24/0 and 18/6 the plants will eventually reach maturity and exhibit their sex. At that time they are ready for flowering and are begging you to swich to 12/12. However, in most cases the plants won't exhibit their sex until several weeks into the flowering stage and it's your discretion when you want to do this (i.e. they are a size you are comfortable with, have a good number of nodal growth, etc...) Many people on this site seem to switch to 12/12 after 1 month of veg. If you're like me and aren't using HID lights then you'll want to hand on longer than that to get the most bang for your buck

man i thought i was fucking up by doing the 24/0 lights but im glad to hear its ok. my plants are about a foot and half or more and i have already topped them. i also have trimmed the water leaves and the new growth is shooting out i will have pics up soon so let me know what you think

definetly don't sweat the 24/0 lighting. There seem to be a few schools of thought on the subject and either way the plants will grow

reason for 24/0: the plants are an annual (one season) opposed to a perernnial (come back every year) and full light may contribute to quicker growth

reasons for 18/6: (a) save on electricity (b) plants are living things and may benefit from structured periods of rest
