how many per plant and what watts ? i know cool white but im trying to grow only one plant. what would happen if i grew one plant. Would i need to worry about odor ?

First off, never start with just one plant. Start with 3, and once you sex them kill off the males, and the weak female, and keep the best female plant. Never start with just one plant. to much chance of that one plant being male.

Yes, MH and HPS work better than CFLs but they still work just fine. With CFLs you will have to keep them very close to the plant (Try to keep em within 2 inches of the bulb) and also make sure you have enough of them. But ya, they should work fine for vegging and flowering a few plants
