I am using a 400 hps now in my closet and am purchasing a 48x48x78 grow tent and was wondering if my ballast and bulb are big enough for the tent or do i need 1000w hope to be using tent in a week or so thanks for the advice.

Ive read that a 400 watt will propperly do a 3x3 area. But 4x4 will be ok.

You'll grow good weed with the 400w as long as you keep the plants really short. IMO, 1000w is good for 4'x4', but heat becomes a challenge.

yeah actually im in about 3' by 4' and using 400 watt in a closet look at my grow you should be successful with that size bulb

thanks for the advice everyone i believe ill get the 1000w i think i could fix a heat problem and could use my 400w with metal halide for the veg phase with my mothers and clones thanks again.

I have the 39"x39" grow tent and the 400 is about perfect for it. I would bump up to a 600 watt for the 48"x48". Just me though, I am just growing a couple of plants.
