Hey guys so I have a 1000w led with 2 settings on it bloom and veg 2 different light colors. I was told by someone to leave them both on at all times and I’m just curious what you guys do. May be a stupid question but I trust most of you more then this guy.
Thanks in advanced!

Just to add. All the switches do is turn off diodes. You want the most from your blurple led run it all out when you get to flower

I’m gonna say screw it and get a hps 1000w for my 5x5 tent my last harvest just wasn’t that good with this led. Any recommendations on a good hps?
Thanks

Lol right. Led marketing is shit! Ive found that on average your paying abought a dollar per actual watt. You paid 500 its probably close to a 500w draw and does the same job as a 600w hps.
Not with a cheap blurple. Watt for watt it's about equivalent to an HID.

Get a 6/750 DE

Or yeah, get a 1000 and cool tf out of that thing.

I had a friend running a 600 HID in a 5x5 tent, but he didn't care about the lack of light on the edges. he used a 4x4 tray and liked the little bit of extra room he had to work around it. he was still pulling - wait for it - about a pound every run.

Your best option, if you have the kind of money to spend, is to get a big rig from Timber or HLG

Ya so I just look at this and it says led power 1200w but average draw is 520w that’s so shitty that they can advertise it as a 1200w
G'day mate,

I'll agree with everyone here.
This particular brand won't keep up with HID at all. I personally have exactly the same series, as the one in your pic of the manual.
I bought the "900watt reflector series". To cut a long story short, 600watts of HID in a 4x4 totally smashes it. 400watts out does it as well, by a very obvious amount.

I think your decision to change to 1000watt HID in your 5x5 is a good one.
Even two 600's...? Personally i'd probably choose this, with 2 aircooled hoods.
7'ft of hight isn't a lot for a 1000watt HID, temperature would be a bit of a battle without using AC.
Apparently the new DE HID fixtures require a lot of hight as well, which mightn't suit a tent either. But i can't speak from experience.

If you'd like to use LED in the future, i'd definitely say save a little more money. Then buy one of the LED's suggested above.

Good luck with your decision, and enjoy the rest of your grow.

Peace.
