Lighting question

Ok guys…

At what point in the flowering stage of a plant does it need, or benefit from, the most amount of light?

Would it be around the last few weeks when it starts bulking up?

I'm having temperature problems and wanted to see if i should keep my light at 75% until it really starts showing its bud growth.

pretty much from beginning of veg to harvest. it's a huge part of every stage. if you don't use sufficient lighting in veg, you suffer growth wize. you're wanting to establish a nice healthy root system, which dictates what the above ground part of the plant is gonna be able to do. small root-mass equals a small plant. if you use say, a 400 watter for veg, and then use 1000 for flower, it's kind of a waste.

The roots still grow during flower though, so I don't understand how it could be a complete waste. Of course, you do want a good root system from the beginning, but I don't necessarily think it's a waste to give it more light during flower.

I'm growing in my attic, and even with good ventilation, it's very hot, and my purpose of the post was to figure out when I should fight the high temps when turning my ballast up.

I'm using a 600w hps, and even turning it to 50%, my tent is much much hotter than it was when I was running 2 x 150 hps.

Makes no sense to me man, tents are a headache.

i've always wanted to try a tent. in flower, the root growth really slows, so you can't count on that to make up for low lighting in veg. if there were a way to cut corners, someone would have already found it....
