Lighting Question

What's better? Fluorescent OR Mercury Vapor for a week old plant that has only four leaves?

i would say CFL,, for now,, then whn bit bigger, change,, is wht iv done,, tho wht light cfl ligight u have??

you dont want mercury vapor at all. You want High Pressure sodium, metal halide, or fluorescent.

Depending on what mercury vapor fixture you have it may be able to run a metal halide bulb. They are interchangeable on the smaller units.

will compact fluorescents work? because i have some of those but it says it has mercury in them.

Incandescents: 17 lumens/watt
Mercury vapor: 45-50 lumens/watt
Fluorescents: 60-70 lumens/watt
Metal halide: 90 lumens/watt
High pressure sodium: 107 lumens/watt
