So I'm running two 55w 3800 lumen florecents and a 150w Hps in a custom turkey pan reflector (lol) that I made and I'm curious how far should I have it from the plants with the Hps in the middle sense it's not as long as the other two I honestly think it should be closer but I'm the new guy that always asks first so he doesn't make mistakes later or wake up to a crop of yellow plants its soul crushing I've seen it happen to a few people I'd rather not experience it let me know please

One post is enough. Your plants will tell you if its too close, through crinkling or bleaching. Start at 12"

If you ask someone a question and they don't hear you do you not re ask it?

I'm looking for a specific answer I've heard to put cfl s damn near on the plant and a 150w Hps 2-4" depending on heat build up and ventilation I'm just looking for an exact option or one I can at least Aquire enought information from to do what I think is right

Just making sure, you didn't screw the HPS into a regular lamp-type socket did you? If so, I'd remove it right away. These bulbs need a special ballast. I have seen them at the box stores. They will fit into a regular socket, but I'd err on the side of safety and assume it's a fire risk. If not then it still won't have a useable spectrum.

150w bulbs can be maybe 6 inches from tops, but like deadgo says start at 12 inches and see how they react.

Here is the test for light distance. Hold your hand just above the canopy. It should feel like a nice warm sunny day at the beach. If it feels hotter than that then back it off. 10-12 inches is a safe bet for mature plants in flower. in Veg maybe 16 inches.

There are too many variables to have definite answers when growing.

Wait more than 9 minutes next time, posting the same thing multiple times is frowned upon.

My original post sat for 24 hours so I posted in two sections hoping for an answer

How is the distance of a light a variable? As far as I know there is a sweet spot

I just want unoppionated answers

Your hood, sealed/unsealed, ambient temp, air pressure all come into play.

I was referring to asking in one of those threads without making my own topic I understand your point I really do no need to take pictures to try and discredit or troll (amusing that I'm worth that effort) I just was inpatient and looking for an answer excuse me

No it's in a ballast I gutted out of an outdoor 150w lamp by like brinks or something
