Lighting for first few weeks of veg stage

I'm guerilla growing outdoors, but for the first couple of weeks I want to keep my plants indoors so they don't suffer the harsh outdoors at such an early stage.
Here's my question; after germination, will the plant need proper lighting and a light schedual or could I leave them on a windowsill for a couple of weeks with the natural light and schedual until they're ready to go outside? I'm only growing 5 plants, but I'm asking because I don't have the house owners permission to grow indoors so I want to get the girls hardy enough to put outside as slyly and as quickly as possible!

They'll stretch too far on mere sunlight alone I can tell you that from person experience lol I'd say about 6-8 weeks under a light & they'll make it outside depending on conditions
