Lighting For Clones?

I am just about to start my first grow, i asusme im going to fail but i seem to know the basics after several months of studying.

I was wondering what kind of lighting i should use for the clones

i am on a budget and only have a 250 hps

i was wondering if i need somin like this

or if i could use the hps?

Use t5's or CFL's for your clones. No need to waste the electricity by using your HPS. The Flouros will do a great job, are very inxpensive, and produce very little heat. Flower your plants with your HPS. Good luck.

Don't assume you're gonna fail, just do research and you'll be fine. That light would be good for clones, the hps might be a bit much. Worry about clones later down the line though and concentrate on the vegging. And have some faith in yourself!!

Yeah man i use a 26w cfl, like $8 and thats all you really need(as long as you arent doing some large number of clones) You dont need a lot of light, you want them trying to grow roots not leaves.

I use a tech light now,but make in my beginner days i just went to home depot and bought a t5 for 20 bucks and it worked just as well.

Yeah I use fluoro tubes for clones and a lot of my veg. The difference in the power bill compared to using the HPS/ MH is very substantial!

What about a heating propagator?
How would one benefit me?
do you still require a light?
and is there anything i should do different than normal propagation?

my friend just gave me one..
