Lighting Barney Style

So I've read alot of threads, books, and even ventured to YouTube about lighting and I cant quite catch the grasp of all the cfls and watts per square ft and all the good stuff you need to know! But I seriously just get lost with all the words and numbers and was wondering if someone could seriously just break it down very EASY for me so I don't lose my damn mind. (Try not to blow my mind either lol)

I did find this chart looks cool makes sense, but I want to really just understand it.

Im running 6 4 gallon pots in a 4ftx4ftx7ft 1000w lighting I just know its bright and toasty lol. Knowledge is power :)

I would have added a light rail and increased your footprint to 4x6. 1000 watts are made to be spread around. The chart is a cool thing it tells you how far away to keep the light and about how many lumens you're getting according to how close the light is. A light meter is even better but PAR is what's important not lumens

That chart is a bit confusing as it reads you can have a 1000w 10 inches away from the plant for optimal growth, yet if you put it 10 inches away you'll fry your plant!!

Keep it 24 inches from the tops, and with a decent reflector you'll easily cover a 4x4 ft space with plenty of light.

Thanks again neo I just end up getting lost in the forums and alot of things just leave me hanging and I made it to the bad lighting section some how and knew I needed to better educate myself. Im addicted to learning and joining this forum has been nothing but pleasant so far! Like what is PAR lol?
