Light Timing

I have my light set on 12/12 but it doesn't fire up for about 20 min. Is this normal? I'm assuming it will be fine even though it is getting over 12 hours of dark. Or should I set it for like 12.25/11.75 so there is actually light on it for 12/12?

I don't think 20 minutes is that big a deal as long as the cycle is the same day in and day out.

You can set most timers in 15 min intervals. You might want to add another 15 min to the cycle. The slow start is very typical of HPS.
