hi im kind of new at this but there is a lot to learn,... i have herd of the 5000 to 6500 kelvin temp of lights for veg, but im not doing so well in my closet with cfl/flouros so i emailed a guy on ebay with a 175 watt Mh and mentioned that i need a lamp with these temps for veg and ha replied that his was either 14000k or 20000k,.. ??????

does this 5000 and 6500k temp only apply to cfls and flouros? and metal halides are rated differently? im confused

he also said in the listing that it was an aquarium light, but it looked like a normal batwing reflector and ballast set up to me

here is a link to tha listing,... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110388518857&ssPageName

5000k- 6500k aren't the temps. they are the light spectrum. they will be a brighter color and are good for veg, 175w mh will work well for veg. Flowering bulbs will have a lower k rating like 2500k, and will be a warm white bulb.
